How can we not conceptualize a tribute to one of the most influential and certainly one of the coolest rock women of all time? This tribute was a pure labor of love for the label and features indie-rockers from all over the globe covering Kim's impressive body of work. Songs Kim’s written for The Breeders and The Amps are covered with utter reverence here.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
